Active Shooters in the Workplace: Supervisor Training Added

Author: Melissa Gonzalez Boyce, XpertHR Legal Editor

An increasing number of employers are incorporating active shooter training in their workplace violence prevention programs. In doing so, it is important to remember that supervisors should also be trained in responding to and leading their employees out of such an unpredictable and dangerous situation.

To help employers train their supervisors, XpertHR has added a new Active Shooter Events - Supervisor Briefing, which guides supervisors through the law and government-recommended best practices regarding active shooter events, including preparing and training for such an event. In addition, a PowerPoint presentation has been published to be used in conjunction with the Supervisor Briefing. The presentation is specifically designed as a training resource to address critical HR-related issued faced by supervisors. This and XpertHR's other PowerPoint presentations can be customized to address the needs of any workplace.
