Case Clarifies Pregnancy Discrimination Under Florida Law: Employment Law Manual, Chart Updated

In Delva v. The Continental Group, Inc., the Florida Supreme Court clarified that an employer may not discriminate against employees or applicants based on pregnancy under the Florida Civil Rights Act (FCRA) because pregnancy is included in the law's definition of sex discrimination.

As a result of this decision, the Florida EEO - Discrimination section of the Employment Law Manual and EEO Protected Classes by State and Municipality chart have been updated.
