Changing Employee Benefit Offerings: FAQs Added, Employment Law Manual Updated

To help employers understand their rights and responsibilities when it comes to the delicate task of changing an employee benefit offering or contribution, XpertHR has added two new FAQs:
- Is an employer required to go through a consultation process with employees if it decides to cut or reduce certain workplace benefits, such as paid time off (e.g., vacation days, holidays)?
- If an employee stops making contributions to a 401(k) plan while on sabbatical, may the employer stop making contributions during this time also?
The Retirement Benefits section of the Employment Law Manual has also been updated.
