Chicago Passes Minimum Wage Ordinance: New Legal Timetables Added, Other Documents Updated

The Chicago City Council has passed a new minimum wage ordinance that will take effect in July 2015 at $10.00 per hour and then increase annually to $13.00 per hour in July 2019. Starting in July 2020, the city's minimum wage will be adjusted for inflation annually.

Six new entries have been added to the Legal Timetable (for 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020). In addition, the Minimum Wage Rates by State and Municipality chart and the Minimum Wage: Illinois section of the Employment Law Manual have been updated.
