Author: Michael Cardman, XpertHR Legal Editor

The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment has issued a proposed minimum wage order, under which the state's minimum wage rate will increase from $8.00 to $8.23 on January 1, 2015. Colorado's constitution requires that the minimum wage rate be adjusted annually for inflation, as measured by the change in the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers, All Items, for the Denver-Boulder-Greeley combined metropolitan statistical area during the 12 months preceding the previous July.

New entries have been added to the Legal Timetable for 2015 and 2016. The chart Minimum Wage Rates by State and Municipality and the Minimum Wage: Colorado section of the Employment Law Manual have been updated as well.
