Colorado School Activities Leave Law Repealed: Handbook Statement Removed

Author: Melissa Gonzalez Boyce, XpertHR Legal Editor

Employers with employees in Colorado should be aware that the School Activities Leave handbook statement has been removed from the Colorado handbook and the Table of Contents has been updated accordingly as a result of the repeal of the Colorado Parental Involvement in K-12 Education Act, effective September 1, 2015. Therefore, a Colorado employer with 50 or more employees is no longer required by law to provide an employee with time off to attend the academic activities of his or her children. Because of this legal development, we have removed School Activities Leave Handbook Statement: Colorado from the handbook tool.
