Courts Continue to Rule on Same-Sex Marriage: Employment Law Manual, Charts Updated

State bans on same-sex marriage were declared unconstitutional in Kansas, Missouri, Montana and South Carolina. Bucking the trend, the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals reversed a Michigan federal court's decision holding that the state's same-sex marriage ban was unconstitutional. The 6th Circuit also reversed lower court rulings in Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee that called for the recognition of same-sex marriages validly performed in other states.
