Determine Whether a B-1 Visa Is Appropriate: New Checklist Added

An H-1B visa is a commonly used visa that allows an employer to temporarily employ a foreign worker in a specialty occupation such as engineering or computer programming. However, there is a cap on the number of H-1B visas that are permitted each fiscal year; and in the past two years, the cap on H-1B visas has been reached in less than a week of the government accepting visa applications. As a result, an employer may seek an alternative, such as the B-1 visa, to sponsor a worker for employment.
