Discussion of Wages: Employee Handbook Statements Added, Enhanced

To address the various state laws that prohibit or otherwise restrict an employer from requiring that employees not disclose information about their wages, the following state-specific statements have been added to the Employee Handbooks tool:

As a result, the Tables of Contents for the Colorado, Illinois, Maine, Michigan and New Jersey handbooks have been updated to reflect the new statements.

In addition, the following statements have been enhanced to address the National Labor Relations Board's position on policies that could be reasonably construed to prohibit employees from disclosing or discussing wage information that is lawfully obtained:

Employers with employees in these states should use these new and revised statements in their handbooks.
