EEOC Proposes ADA Regulations for Employee Wellness Programs: Employment Law Manual Updated

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has issued proposed regulations on employee wellness programs and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) consistent with the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), as amended by the Affordable Care Act. Public comments will be accepted until June 19, 2015. Final regulations are anticipated to take effect in late 2015.
In light of this development, the following sections of the Employment Law Manual have been updated:
- Disabilities (ADA);
- EEO - Discrimination;
- Health Information and Privacy (HIPAA); and
- Health Care Benefits.
