Illinois employers that are required to file Forms W-2, Wage and Tax Statement, and Forms W-2c, Corrected Wage and Tax Statement, electronically must file their 2014 forms with the Illinois Department of Revenue by February 15, 2015, rather than March 31, 2015, under an emergency rule. The accelerated due date also applies to payroll providers that file payroll returns and complete W-2s for employers of any size.

The Depositing and Reporting Withheld Taxes: Illinois, section of the Employment Law Manual, and the Quick Reference chart on Form W-2 Electronic-Filing Requirements by State, have been updated accordingly.
