  • Arbitration Content Enhanced to Address Conflicts with Federal and State Laws

    The Arbitration section of the Investigations and Litigation chapter of the Employment Law Manual has been enhanced to include a discussion of several court decisions addressing conflicts between mandatory arbitration programs and either federal or state laws. Employers that use arbitration agreements or mandatory arbitration programs should review this material to ensure their arbitration agreements remain enforceable and that they cover the appropriate causes of action.

  • Missouri Content Revised to Include New Case on Timeliness of Discrimination Charges

    The Missouri EEO - Discrimination content has been updated to include the case of Farrow v. St. Francis Medical Center, 2013 Mo. LEXIS 249 (2013) in which the court held that a right-to-sue letter issued by the Missouri Commission on Human Rights (MCHR) concerning a former employee's sexual harassment and retaliation claim implicitly meant that the MCHR considered the charge timely even if the charge is filed more than 180 days after the alleged unlawful employment practice occurred.
