Montana Amends Unemployment Insurance Law: Employment Law Manual Updated, Legal Timetable Added

Authors: Michael Jacobson and Tracy Morley, XpertHR Legal Editors

Montana has amended its unemployment insurance law to clarify exclusions from the definition of employment and to allow victims of domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking to be eligible to collect a maximum of 28 weeks of benefits, up from 10 weeks. These changes will take effect July 1, 2015.

In light of these developments, the Montana Legally Required Benefits and Involuntary Terminations sections of the Employment Law Manual have been updated and a Legal Timetable entry has been added.
