Municipal Preemption Laws: New Quick Reference Chart Added

Many states have passed laws that prohibit local governments from adopting, enforcing or administering an ordinance, a local policy or a local resolution on certain issues, such as compensation or benefits.
Also, with the paid sick leave trend growing on a local level, several states have enacted laws preventing cities and counties from passing ordinances that would provide such protections in order to promote consistency within the state.
In light of these developments, XpertHR has added a Municipal Preemption Laws by State chart to the Quick Reference tool. The chart highlights the key employment areas that are preempted by state laws.
