New Hampshire to Require Documentation of Worker Eligibility: Employment Law Manual Updated, Legal Timetable Entry Added

Author: Melissa A. Silver, XpertHR Legal Editor

Effective August 15, 2014, an employer operating in New Hampshire will be prohibited from employing any employee without obtaining documentation showing the employee's eligibility to work in the US. Further, an employer is required to maintain such documentation for the period required by federal law.

As a result of this amendment, the Immigration, Form I-9 and Work Visas: New Hampshire section of the Employment Law Manual has been updated and a Legal Timetable entry has been added.
