Author: Rena Pirsos, XpertHR Legal Editor
The District of Columbia has enacted an ordinance requiring certain employers to offer employees commuter benefits on a pre-tax or no-cost basis. In the states of New Jersey and Connecticut, certain employers are required to comply with the New York City (NYC) commuter benefits law if they send employees into NYC to work.
To help employers comply with these commuter benefits laws, XpertHR has added the following new sections to the Employment Law Manual:
- Taxation of Employee Compensation: District of Columbia;
- Taxation of Employee Compensation: New Jersey; and
- Taxation of Employee Compensation: Connecticut.
