New Task Guides Employers When Sending an Employee on an International Assignment

Author: Melissa A. Silver, XpertHR Legal Editor

There are various employment law considerations that a global organization needs to address before assigning an employee abroad. These issues include:

  • The type of international assignment;
  • The length of the assignment;
  • Which organization will remain as the employee's employer (the home employer or the employer in the destination country);
  • The terms of the employee's employment when abroad;
  • Whether the organization will provide financial support or housing assistance to the employee; and
  • The structure of the employee's reward package.

A new Task, has been added to XpertHR to help guide employers when arranging for an employee to work overseas.
