North Dakota Adds Pregnancy Accommodation Requirement: Employment Law Manual Updated

Authors: Melissa Burdorf and Beth Zoller, XpertHR Legal Editors

North Dakota has amended its Human Rights Act to include a pregnancy accommodation requirement. Effective August 1, 2015, it will be a discriminatory practice for an employer to fail or refuse to make reasonable accommodations for an otherwise-qualified individual because she is pregnant.

In light of this development, the North Dakota EEO - Discrimination and Disabilities (ADA) sections of the Employment Law Manual have been updated and a Legal Timetable entry has been added.
