For terminations of employment occurring on or after August 1, 2015, North Dakota employers will not be required to pay out unused paid time off (PTO) to a terminating employee under certain circumstances, regardless of whether the termination is voluntary or involuntary.

The North Dakota Payment of Wages and Involuntary Terminations sections of the Employment Law Manual have been updated accordingly, and a Legal Timetable entry has been added.
