Oregon Amends Domestic Violence Leave Law: Employment Law Manual Updated, Legal Timetable Added

Author: Gloria Ju

Currently, Oregon law allows an employee to use accrued paid vacation or other paid leave offered by an employer when taking time off for reasons related to domestic violence, harassment, sexual assault or stalking. Effective January 1, 2016, the law has been amended to specify that accrued sick leave or personal business leave may also be used.

In light of this development, the Other Leaves: Oregon section of the Employment Law Manual has been updated and a Legal Timetable entry has been added.
