Oregon Amends Family Leave Regulations: Employment Law Manual Updated

Oregon has made permanent amendments to the Oregon Family Leave Act (OFLA) regulations. The amendments, which became effective immediately, clarify:

  • The definition of spouse;
  • Requirements for parental leave and bereavement leave;
  • Procedures for designating OFLA leave; and
  • How to handle employees who fail to provide timely notice of the need for leave.

In light of this development, the FMLA: Oregon section of the Employment Law Manual has been updated.
