Oregon's Minimum Wage to Remain $9.25 for 2016: Chart, Employment Law Manual Updated

Oregon's Bureau of Labor and Industries on September 16 announced that the state's minimum wage rate will remain at $9.25 for the next year. Oregon law mandates that the minimum wage rate be adjusted annually for inflation, as measured by the change (if any) in the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers during the 12 months preceding the previous August, rounded to the nearest five cents. Because the index rose less than the five-cent margin between August 2014 and August 2015, Oregon's minimum wage will hold steady at $9.25.

As a result of this development, the Minimum Wage Rates by State and Municipality chart and the Minimum Wage: Oregon section of the Employment Law Manual have been updated.
