Protected Activity Under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA): New How To Added

Author: Melissa Gonzalez Boyce, XpertHR Legal Editor

The National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) protects the rights of employees, union and non-union, to engage in "concerted activity for mutual aid or protection" to improve their wages, benefits and working conditions. Protected concerted activity includes many everyday discussions or activities so it is critical that an employer fully understand whether the activity is, in fact, considered protected and concerted under the NLRA before dispensing discipline.

A new How To has been added to the Labor Relations section to provide an employer with the various steps to follow in order to determine whether an employee's activity is protected under the NLRA.
