Author: Michael Cardman, XpertHR Legal Editor

Rhode Island's governor has signed a new law that will increase the state's minimum cash wage for tipped employees from $2.89 to $3.39 on January 1, 2016, and to $3.89 on January 1, 2017.

As a result of this development, XpertHR has updated the Minimum Wage: Rhode Island section of the Employment Law Manual and added two new entries (for 2016 and 2017) to the Legal Timetable.
