Stalking Victims to Be Eligible for Unemployment Benefits in North Dakota: Employment Law Manual Updated

Authors: Michael Jacobson and Tracy Morley, XpertHR Legal Editors

North Dakota has amended its unemployment insurance law, allowing employees who leave work for a reason directly attributable to stalking to be eligible for unemployment benefits. The amendment takes effect August 1, 2015. Victims of domestic violence and sexual assault are already covered by the law.

In light of this development, the North Dakota Legally Required Benefits and Involuntary Terminations sections of the Employment Law Manual have been updated and a Legal Timetable entry has been added.
