West Virginia Issues New Verification of Employment Status Rule: Employment Law Manual Updated, Legal Timetable Entry Added

Effective July 1, 2015, an employer in West Virginia will have new obligations for retaining the documents establishing each employee's legal employment status as well as a new procedure to follow when the Commissioner of the Division of Labor seeks an inspection of those documents.

As a result of this development, the West Virginia Immigration, Form I-9 and Work Visas section of the Employment Law Manual has been updated and a Legal Timetable entry has been added.
