Wisconsin Bans Handheld Phones for Commercial Motor Vehicle Drivers: Employment Law Manual, Chart Updated

Beginning July 1, 2016, using a handheld mobile telephone will be prohibited while driving a commercial motor vehicle. Currently, Wisconsin bans all drivers from texting while driving and has general distracted driving laws.

In light of this development, the Cell Phone Use and Texting While Driving Laws by State chart and the following Wisconsin sections of the Employment Law Manual have been updated:
