Wisconsin Enhances Employment Authorization Process: New Employment Law Manual Section Added

Effective November 15, 2015, Wisconsin has become the seventh state to participate in the Records and Information from Department of Motor Vehicles for E-Verify (RIDE) program. RIDE verifies the validity and authenticity of an employee's driver's license and/or ID card by comparing the driver's license data (from a driver's license, driver's permit or state-issued identification card) with the state motor vehicle records. If there is a match, E-Verify then compares that information with the information initially entered into E-Verify by the employer.

As a result of this development, a new section, Immigration, Form I-9 and Work Visas: Wisconsin, has been added to the Employment Law Manual.
