  • Texas regulates the employment of minors under 18 years old.
  • Texas generally follows federal child labor law in regard to prohibited and permitted occupations, but contains specific rules for solicitations and sales, sexually oriented businesses and driving. See Prohibited Occupations.
  • Unlike federal law, Texas law only restricts the work hours of 14- and 15-year-olds, and allows for hardship exemptions. See Hours of Work.
