  • In addition to the federal equal opportunity laws, Maine employers must comply with Maine's state antidiscrimination statute, the Maine Human Rights Act. See Disability Discrimination in Maine.
  • The Maine Human Rights Act is broader than the ADA, covering employers with at least one employee. See The Maine Human Rights Act.
  • Maine law further prohibits discrimination in genetic testing, meaning an employer cannot discriminate against an employee or applicant on the basis of genetic information or for failing to submit to a genetic test. See Genetic Testing.
