Summary

  • The LAD also prohibits discrimination against any employee or job applicant on the basis of genetic information or atypical hereditary cellular or blood trait, or because of the refusal to submit to a genetic test or make available the results of a genetic test to an employer. See Unlawful Discriminatory Practices.
  • Individuals are liable for aiding and abetting conduct that is in violation of the LAD. See Coverage.
  • Remedies under the LAD can include reinstatement, compensatory damages, punitive damages, legal fees and other legal and equitable relief. See Administrative Remedies.
  • New Jersey has a robust equal pay law. See Equal Pay.
