Summary

  • Generally, family and medical leave laws require covered employers to provide eligible employees with job-protected leaves of absence for qualifying reasons. See Family and Medical Leave.
  • A covered employer may be required to provide an eligible employee with leave for pregnancy, childbirth, adoption or nursing of an infant. See Leave for Pregnancy, Childbirth, Adoption or Nursing of an Infant.
