- The Missouri Constitution provides that "employees shall have the right to organize and to bargain collectively through representatives of their own choosing." See Missouri Labor Law- Private Employees.
- Private employees are permitted to strike for a lawful purpose. See Missouri Labor Law- Private Employees, Right to Strike.
- Missouri's Public Sector Labor Law provides statutory guidelines for collective bargaining for most public employees, except law enforcement officers and teachers. See Missouri Public Sector Labor Law-Public Employees.
