Summary

  • Only two groups of Idaho public employees, professional school district employees and firefighters, have the right to collectively bargain under Idaho law.
  • Firefighters may bargain with their employer regarding all terms and conditions of employment. See Firefighters.
  • On November 6, 2012, voters repealed the 2011 Students Come First trio of laws that made comprehensive changes to the education system. While school district employees may bargain only through local education organizations, the law that restricted the topics of collective bargaining was repealed. See Professional School District Employees.
