The Unionization Process: Montana
Federal law and guidance on this subject should be reviewed together with this section.
- With the exception of nurses and very small employers, Montana law does not comprehensively address union organization and labor relations for private employers, and does not include any right-to-work law. See Private Employers and Employees.
- Montana law protects from union interference very small businesses which own retail or amusement establishments and who employ only the immediate family of the owners. See Very Small Employers.
- The Montana Legislature has adopted requirements for collective bargaining between nurses and health care facilities, with a variety of rules and requirements. See Nurses.
