The stability period is a period of time (selected by the employer) during which an employee who was determined to be a full-time employee during the measurement period is locked into full-time employee status for the purpose of assessing a penalty under the employer shared responsibility requirements under the ACA. The stability period immediately follows and is associated with an applicable measurement period.
