A transgender or transitioning employee's attire should remain professional and appropriate for the workplace depending on the position that the employee holds. The same dress codes and standards should apply to all employees regardless of transgender status. An employee should be able to dress in the manner consistent with his or her gender identity. However, an employer must be prepared to make reasonable accommodations if needed to assist a transgender or transitioning employee.
