Is pregnancy considered a disability under federal law?

Pregnancy may or may not be considered a disability under federal law depending on the circumstances of the particular situation. For example, impairments resulting from pregnancy (e.g., gestational diabetes or preeclampsia) may be disabilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act.  A normal pregnancy with no complications may not be considered a disability under the law.
