What can an employer do to eliminate inappropriate touching in the workplace?

In order to minimize the risk of inappropriate touching in the workplace, an employer should implement and enforce a policy strictly prohibiting sexual harassment as well as any inappropriate workplace conduct or touching. This will set the tone of the workplace and communicate the employer's expectations. Further, an employer should provide training on the policy to all employees and supervisors and advise them on the appropriate boundaries of workplace conduct. Additionally, an employer should provide training on identifying instances of inappropriate workplace conduct that involve unwanted, improper, inappropriate or offensive touching and on how to bring a complaint regarding such conduct.
