What information may an employer provide its supervisors about a subordinate employee's Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) leave?

In general, supervisors and managers may be informed that an employee has been granted FMLA leave, but the basis for the need for leave should not be disclosed. Supervisors and managers may also be informed of necessary restrictions on the work or duties of an employee and necessary accommodations.
