What should an employer do if an employee feels they are being bullied by a coworker on Facebook?

An employer has a duty to provide a safe workplace for its employees and may be vicariously liable for the acts of the harassing employee if the bullying is discriminatory in nature. If an employer becomes aware of online bullying by a coworker, the employer should commence an investigation. Accordingly, the employer should follow up with any disciplinary measures if needed and in accordance with the employer's bullying and harassment policy.
