A written job offer provides an important opportunity for an employer to solidify its verbal offer of employment and to avoid any potential confusion on the part of the employer or the prospective employee. The written job offer should contain all major aspects of the job offer, including position of employment, salary and any conditions of employment. Additionally, the offer letter can be used to remind a new hire of his or her at-will employment status.
