In Chamber of Commerce of the United States v. Whiting, +131 S. Ct. 1968 (U.S. 2011), the Supreme Court addressed whether the Legal Arizona Workers Act of 2007 was consistent with federal immigration law. The Arizona law provided for suspending or revoking the business license of any employer that knowingly or intentionally hired an unauthorized alien in the state.
