Author: Rena Pirsos, XpertHR Legal Editor
Implementation Date: January 1, 2017
Illinois employers must comply with different withholding tax filing and payment schedules as of January 1, 2017. All employers must file Form IL-941 on a quarterly basis. The annual filing option is eliminated and the form has been updated accordingly. In addition, all employers are assigned to pay withheld income tax on a monthly or semiweekly schedule; annual payments are no longer permitted.
