Pennsylvania Allows Medical Marijuana Use

Pennsylvania permits medical marijuana use by individuals with a serious medical condition, such as:
- Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS);
- Parkinson's disease;
- Multiple sclerosis;
- Huntington's disease;
- Post-traumatic stress disorder;
- Crohn's disease;
- Glaucoma; and
- Sickle cell anemia.
The law prohibits an employer from discriminating or retaliating against an employee for being a certified medical marijuana user. However, the law does not require an employer to accommodate medical marijuana use on its premises. An employer may discipline an employee for being under the influence in the workplace or working while under the influence.
