Employer Protection Against Solicitation Extended in Oklahoma

Oklahoma has expanded the protection of employer interests with a new law enforcing nonsolicitation contracts prohibiting employees or independent contractors from soliciting - directly or indirectly- an employer's employees or independent contractors to become employees of another person or business. +2013 Bill Text OK S.B. 1031. Currently, only nonsolicitation of customer agreements are enforceable in Oklahoma.

The new law becomes effective November 1, 2013. At that point, employment agreements that contain a nonsolicitation of employee clause will be enforceable.
