Ina R. Silvergleid is the sole proprietor of A Bridge Forward LLC, a for-profit legal services company that provides affordable legal representation and counseling to individuals who have a criminal history, as well as consultative services to social service agencies and other organizations, who seek to minimize the barriers associated with having a criminal record in the area of employment.
Returning to Chicago, Ms. Silvergleid worked in the civil division of the Cook County State's Attorney Office, where she successfully defended county officials against allegations of discrimination and violations under the US Constitution, and then switched sides to work for Dowd, Bloch & Bennett, a small boutique firm that specializes in union and multi-employer fund representation.
Additionally, she has worked as an attorney for the US Postal Service, where she represented the agency before the EEOC, and as a staff attorney in the labor and employment practice group of Seyfarth Shaw LLP, an international law firm.
Ms. Silvergleid is a 1990 graduate of IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law where she graduated Order of Coif.
Following graduation, she clerked for the Hon. Dean Whipple, a US District Court Judge for the Western District of Missouri.
