Prior to forming Schaffer Law, Mr. Schaffer held senior level HR positions with International Paper Company, Schlumberger Ltd and The Stanley Works where he headed the labor and employee relations function.
He was also an associate at the law firm of Murtha Cullina LLP, and represented clients in a wide variety of workplace matters.
Mr. Schaffer serves on the executive committee of the small firm practice management section of the Connecticut Bar Association, and is a member of the labor and employment law section.
He is also a member of the Florida Bar Association and the Labor Employment Relations Association.
Mr. Schaffer is licensed to practice in Connecticut and Florida.
He writes on a wide range of employment issues and his articles have been published in the Connecticut Law Review, CBA Labor and Employment Law Quarterly, HR Communicator and Chamber News.
Mr. Schaffer holds a BA, cum laude, in Economics from St. Lawrence University, as well as an MSBA in Human Resource Management from the University of Massachusetts.
He received his JD, with high honors, from the University of Connecticut, where he was an editor of the Connecticut Law Review.
