His practice focuses on collective bargaining, unfair labor practices, the NLRA and labor relations.
Mr. Lyon has successfully litigated before the NLRB and state labor boards in representation hearings and defending against unfair labor practices.
He counsels clients during organizing drives and has even acted as a persuader to convince employees to remain or become union-free.
Mr. Lyon regularly assists clients with the interpretation of collective bargaining agreements and disciplinary matters so as to avoid grievances.
However, if the grievance is advanced to arbitration, he has conducted hundreds of arbitration hearings with superior results concerning virtually every aspect of contract interpretation, discipline, union security and interest arbitration.
Mr. Lyon is certified by the American Arbitration Association as an arbitrator to adjudicate employment disputes.
He graduated from Saint Norbert College, magna cum laude, and received his JD from Hamline University School of Law, cum laude. He is admitted to practice in Oregon and Washington.
