Applicability: All California employers that have employees subject to state disability insurance (SDI) contributions and all California employers that have established an SDI Voluntary Plan.
Obtaining This Notice: An employer may download this brochure directly from California's Employment Development Department's website.
Distribution Specifications: An employer must provide the brochure to new hires and again when the employee notifies the employer he or she needs to take time off from work to care for a seriously ill family member or to bond with a new child.
